How to extract MP3 audio from online videos

Sometimes you only need the soundtrack: a lecture you may re-listen to offline, a public talk, or audio from a video you created yourself. SaveVideo can extract MP3 when the source provides an audio stream we can process.

Music copyright is strict. Ripping commercial music tracks to redistribute or avoid paid services is not fair use in most places. Prefer licensed music apps for songs.

How to do it on SaveVideo

  1. Copy a public video URL (YouTube and many other platforms work when not blocked).

  5. Wait for conversion, then save the file before the temporary link expires.

Quality expectations

Output quality depends on the source audio bitrate. We aim for high-quality encoding when the input allows it, but a low-quality source cannot become studio audio. Very long videos take more time and may hit size limits.

Alternatives for music fans

If your goal is legal offline music, use the offline features of Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Bandcamp, or the artist’s store. Those options pay rights holders more reliably than random MP3 rips.
